Blingaroni.

Hope everyone has an awesome and safe New Years tonight!

A BIG thank you to everybody who has stopped by to take a look at my stuff, I really appreciate it, and I'm looking forward to doing a full years worth of drawings for you in 2011!

"Ah 1, Ah 2, Ah 3....3." - Owl

Oh, I forgot to mention that the quotes are what the customers said as they handed me the tip.

At the Car Park, Yeah!

Howdy everyone, for this last week of 2010 I'm going to fill you guys in on some of the things I was tipped while working as a valet at a casino.

Where do states go when they die?

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, if you celebrate it, or a nice holiday scrum with family and/or friends at least.

How about this weeks musical selection?  Okay.

This week we have Marlena Shaw, who manages to completely outdo The Fifth Dimension and Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, with her cover of the Ashford & Simpson penned 'California Soul.' (Side note: Supposedly Valerie Simpson sang the Tammi Terrell parts as Terrell was going through chemo at the time of recording.) This song has been sampled countless times.

Bonus Marlena Shaw jam, there are so many to choose from. But here is 'Think About Me':

Happy Holidays...

Extra comic for the holiday today. It's a Photo Finish I did for Time Out NY that ran last week.

Christmas SMASH!!!

More holiday humor for everyone.

Sorry to cut short the holiday origins, they weren't as clear without color. Perhaps I will bring them back at a later date for a smörgåsbord type of week.

Oh No I Didn't!

Total bummer, I am without my watercolors  for a few days. So, here is a black and white holiday gift suggestion to cheer you up in the meantime.

By the way, I super don't condone hitting women, I really don't, I think it's bad, seriously.

Holiday Etymology!

Happy beginning to the holiday themed week! Here is the first entry.

Tis' The Season.

Even though I have nothing for my family, that doesn't mean I can't give something to everyone else.

My gift to you is this week's musical selection. A fine little holiday themed ditty brought to you by Clarence Carter.  In the song he fills the role of an entirely different kind of Santa that brings gifts that aren't advertised on television...ever. This song also spawned another Christmas time favorite in Run-DMC's 'Chrstmas in Hollis.' So, here to spread the 'cheer' is Clarence Carter 'Back Door Santa.'

And why not, here is Run-DMC 'Christmas in Hollis'

Nachos For Everyone!

I've been naughty and as of this moment have zero gifts for friends and family in my possession. I should probably get on top of that...

The Stranger.

Last Star Wars comic this week. I'm a little sad to see them go, but I know there will be other awesome theme weeks ahead.

Feels Good, Yeah.

A little Skywalker adventure for everyone.

B.S.D.

Star Wars week on the blog this week. Hopefully I won't get sued...

Looking Sharp.

This week is a hot little funky dance jam instrumental that I found randomly during a 45rpm record digging binge. Don't know too much about it off the top of my head. The late great J Dilla sampled it on one of his beat tapes, but I have never heard anyone use that beat for an album cut. Anyways, here is Little Royal's 'Razor Blade' for your listening enjoyment.

OMG! Becky!

I bet he is rethinking how awesome it is to be an astronaut right about now.

Surprise ending!

I would be totally shocked if I were an opposing knight and that happened...

Freddie's Dead.

Busy week, so only enjoyable pencil drawings this week.

Two jokes about horror movie icons at a bar within a week of each other, uh oh, things are starting to get stale around here I guess. Also, that might possibly be the worst bar to attend ever...behind Coyote Ugly.

Cold Blooded.

I got my mini-comics done in time for the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Fest, which was an awesome happening by the by, lots of nice folks and creative types.

On to the drawing part of this, followed by week 2 of the music part of this.

Winter is upon us, so I thought I would pass along one of my favorite tracks about the season and that 'mean ol' winter man.' It's by Clarence Reid, whose stuff is great and he also wrote and produced some incredible tracks for other people, and he later decided to get a little bit freaky under the alias Blowfly. But here he is before his 'freaky' days.

Oscar Meyer.

I am off to the land of copy machines to hopefully put a zine type thing together in a 3 hour time span.

Bring Yourself Back.

In the heyday of animal mascots, perhaps none was as poorly received as the Vagisil Badger.

Quick one today, working on getting a small little zine completed for this weekends Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival.

The Coug.

He knew he shouldn't. He knew she was a registered sexual predator. Maybe it was the beer, maybe it was the drought he had been going though. But, she was looking so good that night.
